Technical Procurement Officer Permanent Posted 7 hours ago SFG Engineering Procurement OfficerOur Johannesburg branch has a vacancy for a suitably qualified person in the Procurement departmentMain Purpose?The purchasing of all equipment for the different sites as required per contract (purchasing at best delivery, price and quality).?The buyer is responsible for the overall running and management of the buying process.
This will include administration of the buying process documentation, adaption of procedures and the daily generation and tracking of purchase orders predominantly for the construction side of the businessDuties and Responsibilities?Expedite getting suppliers opened onto Syspro/ SAP, facilitate completion of necessary documentation and data verification.?Obtain quotations and submit purchase orders to suppliers in response to purchase requests?From internal clients, in accordance with the company's standards for large orders prepare adjudication sheet with recommendations Obtain pricing of materials for the Proposals department?Expedite purchases, arranging collections and alternative delivery where necessary.
Reconcile queries with creditors?Maintain hard and softcopy documents as per company procedures.?On all above check pricing on BOQ Respond to client e-mail?Verification of BBBEE ALT (level 1 and 2) Maintain good relations with suppliersQualifications and Experience?Matric preferably with a post technical diploma in Electrical and or Instrumentation.?Construction experience with electrical, mechanical and instrumentation procurement.?SAP will be an advantage.Special Requirements?A legal driving license.?Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.?Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing, including formal communications and making presentations.?Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.?A sense of urgency with a strong customer service orientation.?Willingness and freedom to travel when required, including overnight stays away from home base.?Hard working & resourceful.?The ability to read electrical drawings so as to do take-offs for procurementWorking Conditions?Office based.?Is subject to work beyond normal working hours, evenings, weekends and holidays should the need arise.?Attends and participates in continuing educational programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in your profession.
