TECHNICAL PRINCIPAL | SPECIALIST (BRIDGES) Cape Town, SOUTH AFRICAHighly Competitive Package on Offer!Our Client, an astute Global Civil Engineering firm is currently in search of a seasoned bridge (or related) design expert to join their dynamic team of renowned and award-winning technical professional.Main Purpose of the Role:Be responsible for leading and working with teams of Engineers, Designers and Draughtspersons across major-sized projects and a portfolio of clients.The role involves strategic technical leadership and the ability to lift the overall technical performance of the engineering professional team through varous development and mentoring initiatives. You will assume technical responsibility on multiple major-scale projects whilst providing specialist technical advice.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Provide technical specialist support and guidance to peers and other functional groups within the level of your expertiseProvide technical leadership and management of a multi-disciplinary teamMentoring and coaching as well as knowledge transfer to staffIdentify and provide solutions to challenging engineering problemsDevelop and maintain relationships with clients by maintaining contact with wide local and international network of persons with similar interestsEnsure that appropriate technical standards and Quality Assurance (QA) requirements are adhered toApply a deeper understanding of engineering principles to devise and deliver practical and economical solutions to problemsPlan and resource projectsPrepare client reports and designsManage drawing, project specifications and contract documentation production for assigned tasks in accordance with the Companies procedures and appropriate technical standardsPrepare expressions of interest and tender submissionsStrictly adhere to the Companiess Management System (MS), quality standards and HSE proceduresKeeping abreast of latest techniquesPublish papers or articles on projects or developments in the field of expertiseBe involved in relevant initiativesShare knowledge with colleagues, clients, students through the facilitation of workshops, lectures etc.RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor of Engineering degree/higher degree from accredited university/collegeRelevant professional memberships10-15 Years proven experience with expert knowledge in pre-stressed concrete bridge design and / or pre-stressed building concrete design Preferred proven experience gained either in SA / UK / Europe marketExpert knowledge gained in reinforced concrete Solid project management and leadership skillsAbility to identify and provide solutions to challenging engineering problemsAbility to use analytical tools including commercial softwareSound knowledge of Quality Assurance (QA)Extensive knowledge of engineering materials and their applicationsKnowledge of contractual matters pertaining to constructionSound knowledge of OHS and environmental regulationsGood interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a culturally diverse and multi-disciplinary environmentTo apply for this role, please forward an updated and detailed copy of your CV to
