As a Technical Platform Lead you will provide strategic direction to technical teams across the Salesforce platform, responsible for the full product lifecycle and Salesforce ecosystem to ensure we build and grow a robust Salesforce platform and oversee the ongoing drive to increase efficiency, optimisation and innovation.
The role spans across the CRM (Salesforce FSC) as well as the Credit Loan Management System (nCino) Delivery teams as both an advisory and governance function.
You'll serve as the catalyst for change behind Salesforce and across business banking, driving innovation and scaling solutions in a manner unmatched in South Africa, placing you at the heart of our next leap in client service excellence in the financial sector. We are seeking a Technical Platform Lead to play a pivotal role in defining and enforcing SDLC standards while developing scalable, robust solutions that support core business functions such as Financial Services Cloud (Sales and Services), nCino, Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, etc.
In this position, you will steer the technical trajectory of our Salesforce delivery across multiple feature teams and ensure we derive maximum value from Salesforce capabilities by thinking big and long term. You'll also play a pivotal role in ensuring org health and a well-architected platform working with teams across Business Bank as well as the broader Capitec group.
ExperienceMinimum: Development Leadership: Set strategic direction for Salesforce development, design custom solutions, and manage Apex code, Lightning components, and integrations.Platform Management: Oversee Salesforce operations, ensure performance, security, and governance, and drive remediation efforts.Partnerships: Identify solutions and partnerships, develop business cases, and create delivery plans.System Integration: Manage Salesforce integrations, develop roadmaps, and maximize platform use.Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of Salesforce specialists.Project Management: Plan and execute Salesforce development projects.Stakeholder Collaboration: Translate business needs into technical requirements and collaborate with stakeholders.Best Practices: Establish and enforce Salesforce best practices and security protocols.Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on Salesforce releases and implement platform improvements.Technical Skills: Experience with Salesforce development tools, integration solutions (e.g., MuleSoft, Informatica), and release management tools (e.g., AutoRabit, Copado).Knowledge of data modeling, API development, and security compliance.Data Modelling and Governance: Define data capabilities, ensure quality and security, and establish governance policies.API Development: Develop and optimize custom APIs (REST, SOAP, GraphQL) and monitor performance.Security and Compliance: Implement secure authentication, ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.Release Management and System Change Management: Plan and manage Salesforce releases, data migrations, and version control.Soft Skills: Manage and lead a team, ensure adherence to standards, and foster a collaborative environment.Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management: Build relationships, address queries, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.Accountabilities: Support third-party management, ensure delivery quality, and coordinate team and project activities.System Availability: Ensure system uptime, manage incidents, and engage with vendors.Qualifications (Minimum)A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology - Programming or SimilarQualifications (Ideal or Preferred)KnowledgeMinimum: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.5 - 10 years working as a Salesforce Technical Expert with relevant Salesforce Certifications (e.g., Salesforce Certified Platform Developer, Salesforce Certified Technical Architect) are highly desirable.Proficient in Salesforce development (Apex, Visualforce, Lightning), integration (APIs, middleware), and administration. Strong understanding of Salesforce data modeling, security, and performance optimization.Experience with DevSecOps.Project Management: Experience in managing large-scale Salesforce projects, including planning, execution, and delivery.Leadership: Proven ability to lead and mentor a team, manage performance, and foster a collaborative work environment.Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions.Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization.Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.SkillsAnalytical SkillsAttention to DetailCommunications SkillsSQL SkillsConditions of EmploymentClear criminal and credit recordCapitec is committed to diversity, applications to this position will strictly be considered in support of our employment equity goals.
