Technical Officer

NexusAG, with its head office in Paarl, is a leading provider of agricultural crop solutions to optimise healthy crops and contribute to food security. NexusAG currently has the above vacancy for a dynamic and organised person with a combination of well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, paired with the ability to function well in a team and perform under pressure, to join their technical team. A relevant tertiary qualification (B.Sc.) is the minimum requirement for this position. An aptitude for scientific data processing and excellent computer skills (MS Office specifically MS Excel and Macros), as well as GIS (GQIS and/or ArcGis) skills, are further requirements. Candidates with knowledge of the agricultural sector and/or AVCASA/BASOS qualifications, previous experience in a similar position, as well as basic computer software skills, will be given preference. The successful candidate will report to the Technical Division Head and responsibilities will include: Acquiring, providing, capturing, and consolidating scientific information; Direct and regular engagement with role players, including customers, distributors, and suppliers; Maintenance of current documentation and systems; Database development; Creating digital farm maps using GIS; Processing data on Excel; Providing support to Technical Managers and distributors; Drafting or reviewing technical marketing communications and materials to distributors; Conducting literature studies in the agricultural science field.
