Education and QualificationsTrade tested Mechanical Fitter, or Electrician, or Electro-Mechanician (Millwright) with at least 5 years of documented post-qualification experience in the operation and maintenance of electro-mechanical equipmentOREngineering Diploma (T3 or N5 or higher) in Mechanical or Electrical (or similar) disciplines with at least 2 years of documented post-qualification experience in the operation and maintenance of electro-mechanical equipmentNOTE: regardless of qualifications and experience, the Chief Inspector of the Department of Education and Labour (DoEL) retains the right to further interview and reject a candidate from being appointed as the Machinery Supervisor for Aerial Ropeways, and as such it is crucial that qualifications and experience are presented accurately upon application for this positionA thorough knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act No85 of 1993 and the associated regulations will be required by the Chief Inspector of the DoEL, specifically but not limited to: General Safety Regulations, General Machinery Regulations, Driven Machinery Regulations, Electrical Machinery Regulations, Electrical Installation Regulations, Construction Regulations, Pressure Equipment Regulations, Environmental Regulations, Facilities Regulations, and associated standards ie SANS10142.IWH Certified Fall Arrest and Rescue Technician.
