Job Description:
Routinely visit all production units to assess and monitor field crop quality, nutrient status, diseases visible, general crop quality, as well as fertilization, irrigation, and scouting (pest control) practices.
Implement standard control, monitoring and assessment measures, sample, data capturing, data analysis, interpretation of results followed by feedback and reporting to farm managers and Regional Manager based on proven results.
Develop and draft standardized SOPs for fertilization, irrigation, scout (pest control) practices and methodologies as per operational requirements and best practices.
Attentively seek ways to improve current methods and systems, keeping abreast with the latest developments and providing technical advice on best practices.
Manage teams of fertilizer (nutrition), irrigation and scout (pest control) specialists.
Qualifications:
BSc Agricultural Degree
At least 10 years' experience with applied knowledge within a similar position with a proven record of experience as per above duties and responsibilities.
Valid SA driver's licence
Willing to travel within Limpopo province and adapt to changing working hours as per operational requirements.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Critical thinking
Problem-solving
Ability to work independently.
Computer literate - advanced Excel: Once data has been collected, analysed, and measured, report by way of visualizations through charts and graphs.
