Technical External Sales Representative

A company, who enjoys a significant presence in the local gearbox market serving diverse needs in mining, manufacturing, and agriculture is seeking an External Sales Representative.
Based in Cape Town, you will play a pivotal role in promoting and selling our comprehensive range of gearbox solutions across various industries, across the Western and Northern Cape.
Critical Success Factors for the Position: Minimum matric exemption with proficiency in math, sciences, and Afrikaans; ND or Engineering Degree preferredPrevious experience in technical sales, particularly in industrial and manufacturing sectorsProficiency in SAP, CRM, and MS OfficeDemonstrated track record of achieving and surpassing sales targetsExcellent communication and negotiation skillsAbility to convey technical information effectivelySelf-motivated and target-orientedValid driver''s license Detailed Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales Responsibilities:
Identify and prioritize existing and potential customers based on business potentialDevelop effective call plans for customer managementExplore and pursue new business opportunities, especially in OEM sectorEnsure active servicing of existing customers and follow up on sales leadsMonitor sales performance to meet budget targetsParticipate in marketing and sales events as required Technical Responsibilities:
Utilize power transmission formulae for equipment selectionAcquire in-depth knowledge of products and application criteriaConduct site meetings to evaluate applications and resolve operational issuesPerform calculations for equipment sizing and selectionFamiliarize with SAP system for stock status verification Administration Responsibilities:
Prepare and submit call plans and reportsMaintain accurate customer database and activity recordsGenerate quotations ensuring technical and commercial terms clarityCoordinate equipment delivery status confirmationProcess sales orders and ensure timely deliveryAssist with internal sales functions and periodic stock counts Key Performance Areas:
Systematic approach to sales activities with emphasis on call planningCultivate relationships with customers and prospectsContinuous development of product and application knowledgeResult-driven work ethic to achieve targets and budgets Remuneration:
