The USAID/Southern Africa Bilateral Health Office Health Systems Strengthening team is seeking an experienced and skilled individual with extensive knowledge on Human Resources for Health within the South Africa context, with the knowledge, and experience to support key time-bound strategic projects. These include, but are not limited to, advancing sustainability agenda, conducting case studies on optimizing HRH, detailed HRH reporting, as well as performing coordinating and facilitating meetings with internal and external stakeholders, report writing, and providing technical assistance and site visit support to implementing partners.
Primary Responsibilities
Task 1: Provide routine support to monitor the Provincial HRH support in Limpopo, Gauteng, Free State, and Mpumalanga Province.
This project seeks to maintain critical service delivery and data support in highly targeted key areas, both geographically and within the care and treatment cascade to yield the most impact within the context of reduced partner funding in collaboration with the National, Provincial, and District Teams at the Department of Health (DoH).
Activities and Deliverables
Develop a national project work plan based on the four provincial (GP, LP, MP, FS) work plans.
Deliverable: National HRH work plan collated based on the provincial plan (Once-off)
Conduct monthly calls with Provincial Support Partners to monitor and track HRH support against provincial work plans.
Deliverable: Progress report including action items (Monthly)
Monitor action plans with IPs with the AOR and HRH POC (Jennifer Daniels).
Deliverable: Report with achievements, challenges, and priority actions documented (Monthly)
Share feedback reports with HRH POC.
Deliverable: Feedback reports (Monthly)
Schedule and participate in provincial-level meetings with PDoH and Provincial Support Partner per province.
Deliverable: Meeting agenda and attendance register, Meeting report (Quarterly)
Additional Tasks
Provide targeted support to the National HRH Directorate on the implementation of the South Africa HRH2030 Strategy.
Provide targeted program management support for meetings with the Office of Health Safety Compliance (OHSC).
Provide technical and admin support to strengthen the Employee Health and Wellness Support Program within the National and Provincial Departments of Health.
