Role PurposeDesign, Plan, Configure, Support, Secure and Maintain the availability, integrity and performance of the Bank's databases environment.Manage all database changes in all environments.Ensure that the database environments are adequately backed up and replicated to ensure limited impact in the event of failures and to ensure that we can achieve the Disaster recovery and business continuity requirements.To Succeed In This Role You Will NeedTechnical CompetenciesMicrosoft SQL serverSQL server in AzureITIL (Change Management, Service Delivery, Service Level Agreements)Minimum EducationNational Diploma in Information Technology and/or BSC Degree in Information TechnologyMicrosoft and/or other Database related CertificationsMinimum Work ExperienceMinimum 2 years in Database AdministrationAt least 1-2 years' experience in a Senior Database administration position in a large environment.Financial Services experienceCUSTOMER SATISFACTIONQuality of work delivered to both internal and external stakeholders.Level of satisfaction by customers (internal/external).Improve processes or solve problems with enhancements to current processes or create new solutions.OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCEManagement of the Bank Database servers, storage, databases, and capacity.Collaborate with project teams and deliver robust deployments aiming to move to High Availability.Disaster Recovery.Policies and procedures.Documentation and changes to procedures.Database access management.PEOPLE AND LEADERSHIP (Talent management)Take ownership for driving own career development.Knowledge sharing.Number of leadership engagements and effectiveness.This position is advertised in line with our commitment to Employment Equity.
