Our client in Mining and Engineering is looking for a Technical Buyer to join their team in the Gauteng, East Rand area.Minimum requirements:National diploma in Purchasing, tertiary qualification in Purchasing Management or equivalent;Minimum 3 years experience in buying within a mining environment;Experience in receiving, validating and processing of requisitions;Strong Administrative, organisational and leadership skillsKnowledge of JDE Oracle an advantageSound understanding of BBBEE and the Mining Charter would be advantageous;Above average organizational and interpersonalskills.Duties and ResponsibilitiesComply with procurement processes as prescribed in the buying procedure within the stipulated turnaround time (3-5 working days) SLAReceiving, Validating and processing of requisitions from internal stakeholders for Operational requirementsPreparation of required tender and quotation documentationEnsuring that the correct documentation is used when issuing tendersSourcing, selecting and negotiating the best purchase packageIdentify and select suppliers for purchases, based on category strategy and analysis of quotesIdentifying opportunities procurement savings and benefitsAchievement of Procurement savings/benefitIdentifying repeat goods or services to be placed on contractExpediting of products to prevent any stoppagesMonthly procurement reportingCollaborating with end users to identify needs and required outcomesLiaising with end users (Engineering and Production) regarding status of deliveries and delaysRespond to supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellationsEnsuring supplier adherence and awareness of safety procedures and standardsEvaluating and identifying opportunities for promoting BEE statistics in accordance with BBBEE and the Mining CharterResolve all perceptive queries by investigating blocked invoices (pricing queries).Apply now!
