Aon Re is hiring a Technical Accounts Administrator, this is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our head office in Sandton.
The role of the Technical Accounts Administrator is to provide support to the brokers in reinsurance accounting and claims administration functions through understanding and analyzing terms and conditions, processing and reconciling all accounts.
What the day will look likeObtain and understand relevant supporting documentation (i.e. terms and conditions of the cover note).Extract relevant information from cover note and load information on the system.Be aware of timeframes and deadlines involved in area of responsibility.Analyse respective incoming accounts/claims from clients to determine requirements and subtitles of the contract in relation to the accounts and identify anomalies.Process and reconcile accounts.Identify if premium is proportional or non-proportional and process accordingly verification.Identify risk and cessioning.Updating reserves and monitoring large losses.Pre and post client meetings.Cash calls processing and interrogation.Reinstatement calculation/Indexation.Submit respective documentation (invoices etc.) to relevant clients and Reinsurers.Ensure timeous collection of respective funds and check receipt thereof.Ensure cash calls handling is accurate.Attend to and resolve queries timely.Follow up outstanding balances from clients and/or Reinsurers.Reconcile balances and payments made and pay or refund accordingly.Provide age analysis and Open Balance audit reports to management.Build and maintain effective relationships with all key stakeholders.Responsible for engaging in business development and/or contributing directly or indirectly to all business development efforts in Aon South Africa.Upload all transactions onto Inview.Handle market queries on Inview.Preparation of all year-end adjustment, profit commission and sliding scales.Skills and experience that will lead to successQualifications: Grade 12 (matric).A diploma or degree in accounting or financial management.Insurance Diploma (advantageous).RE 5.Knowledge: Knowledge of relevant legislation (VAT, etc.).Knowledge and understanding of insurance and reinsurance.Skills and Attributes: Well-developed analytical technical and problem-solving skills.Digital literacy with sophisticated experience in MS Word and Excel.Well-developed business and financial skills and acumen.Analytical problem solver.Experience: Have a minimum of 2 to 3 years' general accounting experience.Experience in reinsurance accounting will be a distinct advantage.Have experience in treaty & fac claims.Have experience in technical account.Regulatory Compliance: Comply with the applicable Fit and Proper provisions as set out in the Board Notice 106 of 2008 issued by the Financial Services Board governing Financial Advisory and Intermediary services Act, 2002 – Determination of Fit and Proper requirements for Financial Service Providers, 2008.Have knowledge and understanding of the applicable provisions set out in the General Code of Conduct for Authorized Financial Services Providers and Representatives (as governed by the Financial Services Board, Board Notice 80 of 2003).Have knowledge and understanding of the applicable provisions set out in the Short-Term Insurance Act No 53 of 1998 and supporting regulations.Understand the provisions of the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA), No 38 of 2001 and amendments thereof.How we support our colleagues: In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage a diverse workforce.
