About the RoleAs a Senior Backend Engineer at Typeform, you'll be responsible for contributing code to microservices written in GoLang, utilizing HTTP calls for inter-process communications (IPC), and implementing Kafka or SNS/SQS as middleware. Working closely with our Product Team, you'll champion engineering excellence, as you create beautiful and secure features and functionalities for our customers, which enhances their user experience.
Things you will do:Contributing code to projects that require backend work (in Golang)Improve existing code bases to be more scalable and reliableReacting to monitoring alerts and triaging accordingly to resolve issues (even after hours)Proposing solutions to code or architectural problems in a high-traffic environmentDoing Root-Cause-Analysis (RCA) exercises and leading/contributing to postmortems for incidents.Helping and training peersBeing part of an on-call rota to react to any alerts our monitoring system raises during and outside office hours.What you already bring to the table:University degree in a related fieldExperience in a high-traffic distributed architectureExperience writing architectural documentationExperience with our core technologies: GoLang, Cloud providers, and Messaging systemsExcellent written and spoken English skillsExperience working in a remote company or a startup.Previous working experience with Kafka, Terraform, Kubernetes, & ElasticsearchApply for this jobWe are proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
