Shift Pursuit has partnered with an Accounting and Auditing Firm, and we are seeking the expertise of an experienced Tax Compliance Officer. As a Tax Compliance Officer, you will have a crucial role in ensuring accurate handling of Tax, VAT, and other SARS-related data. The successful candidate would be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of clients (including individuals, corporate entities, and trusts). The candidate would be required to liaise directly with clients and is expected to be capable of working with limited supervision from senior management.

Minimum Requirements: 3-5 years of experience in a similar role required. Solid knowledge of the Income Tax Act, tax systems, and practical SARS experience essential. E-Filing experience mandatory. Must communicate professionally and confidently with clients. Willingness to mentor junior colleagues required. Relevant qualifications preferred but not mandatory. Key Duties or Responsibilities: Drafting of Tax Calculations and Income Tax returns – Mainly for individuals and deceased estates, but at times it may be necessary to prepare tax returns for Trusts and Corporates. Preparation and submission of provisional tax calculations for individuals, companies, and trusts. Sending of requests to clients for information necessary for the completion of various tax returns. Checking of Assessments. Assistance with drafting and submission of objections where necessary (Income Tax, VAT, Employees Tax). Assistance with drafting of responses to SARS queries and SARS Audits. Declarations of Ceasing to Be Resident. Approval of International Transfer (AIT) Applications. Dividends Tax returns. Tax Directive Applications. Account Maintenance for all tax types. Attending SARS Appointments where required. Dealing with client queries and requests. Skills or Competencies: Ability to work under pressure. Attention to detail. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Team player. Strong analytical skills. Strong administration skills. Strong understanding of the overall Microsoft Office package.
