DescriptionICIB (Investec Corporate and Institutional Banking) is seeking to appoint a new Tax Administrator to join the broader team.
This role is necessary to support the increased scope of work, which now includes tax packs for South Africa (SA) and FATCA/CRS (Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act/Common Reporting Standard) requirements across various business units within ICIB.The Tax Administrator will be responsible for the following: Working Understanding of Tax Legislation and Requirements: Demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of tax legislation and requirements, particularly in the areas of income tax, FATCA/CRS, OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development), and SARS (South African Revenue Service) BRS (Business Requirement Specification) schema for the submission of tax reports Tax Pack Preparation: Assisting in the preparation of tax packs for South Africa and FATCA/CRS compliance, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory guidelinesCollaborating with the various internal stakeholders and business units to gather the necessary data and documentation required for tax reporting purposesConducting periodic reviews and updates of tax packs to reflect changes in tax legislation and requirements Compliance Monitoring: Supporting the team in monitoring and ensuring compliance with tax regulations, standards, and reporting deadlinesAssisting with the identification and resolution of any tax-related issues or discrepanciesKeeping abreast of changes in tax legislation and communicating relevant updates to the team Reporting and Documentation: Compiling and maintaining accurate and up-to-date tax records, reports, and documentationCollaborating with internal and external auditors during tax audits and reviewsAssisting in the preparation of tax-related documentation for internal and external stakeholders Note: This job description is a general overview and may be subject to change based on the specific requirements in some of the business units within ICIBExperience, skills and capabilityThe ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications and skills Academic Qualifications: Relevant qualification in Taxation, Accounting, or a related field.Strong knowledge and understanding of tax legislation, particularly in the areas of income tax, FATCA/CRS, OECD, and SARS BRS schema Work Experience: Previous experience in tax administration or a similar role, preferably within the financial services industry Technical competencies Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholdersAbility to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Investec Culture At Investec we look for intelligent, energetic people filled with passion, integrity and curiosity.
