We work closely with departments with the creation of accurate position descriptions, job classifications, recruitment and selection of administrative and technical staff, performance assessments, professional development, benefits and pension administration, and provisions of collective agreements with unionized staff.Under the direction of the Senior HR Consultant, and utilizing an awareness of issues of equity, diversity, and inclusion, the Talent Management & Human Resources Assistant plays a critical role in supporting the recruitment processes at the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering ensuring we have excellent staff to meet the varied needs of the Faculty, as well as providing general administrative and project support within the HR office.As part of the FASE HR Team, the incumbent will provide support to recruitment activities for a range of unionized and non-unionized administrative positions for the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering, ensuring compliance with the hiring provisions of applicable collective agreements and employment policies; duties include reviewing applications, assisting with posting requisitions, setting up interviews, communicating with candidates, initiating onboarding processes with managers, as well as other administrative duties related to the recruitment processes for the Faculty.The position will also provide administrative support within the HR team, answer general HR enquiries, and work alongside the other HR team members on a range of related initiatives and projects.QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREDEducation:University degree or acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience. Courses, certification, or degree in Human Resources &/or Labour Relations preferred.Experience:Experience supporting full-cycle recruitment, preferably in a unionized environment; Demonstrated administrative and customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.Skills:Excellent oral, written communication and active listening skills; Strong facilitation and interpersonal skills; Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent client service orientation and demonstrated initiative, tact, diplomacy and discretion; Demonstrated ability to work effectively both in a consultative team environment and independently; Working knowledge of HRIS and recruitment/applicant tracking software is a strong asset. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills and the ability to deliver high quality work while managing competing deadlines.Other:Ability to manage competing demands and be adaptable and flexible; Awareness of and sensitivity to issues of equity, diversity, and inclusion; Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately. Commitment to quality customer service and teamwork. Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, creativity and initiative.
