DescriptionAbout the job System SupervisorTo manage and supervise all relevant Point of Sale (POS) transactions ensuring total Customer satisfaction. Handle all Cash Office and banking processes and related Point of Sale (POS) Administrative functions.RequirementsGrade 12 plus 5 (five) year related experience or minimum of 10 (ten) years' work related experienceAbility to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographical area where the position is availableAbove average numeric skillsProven ability to provide exceptional Customer serviceProven ability to work under pressureMust be computer literatePrevious Cashier experienceCustomer ServiceEnsure that all speed point transactions, i.e. credit and debit card transactions are done effectively and efficiently.Be willing to assist Customers with their needs through clear and effective communicationAssist the Customers with requests, queries and complaints and resolve or escalate to managementOffer fast, friendly, and efficient service to all CustomersControl and ensure the availability of stationary and consumables, within the StoreCash Handling and BankingControlling of Store floats (Petty Cash, Till Floats, Change Floats)Change ordering and dispensingBalancing and recording of Petty Cash expenses and vouchers in the Petty Cash LedgerProcessing Back Office transactions and Cashing up of Cashiers and the Back Office Till (e.g. Bulk Deposits, Special Deposits, Charge Cards, Loyalty Cards, and Returns etc.)Ensure that all returns are valid and done correctlyCash Clearance to be actioned and queries to be resolvedEnsure pick-ups are done timelyCarry out End of Day sessions on all Point of Sale (POS) terminalsDaily Cash Up of all Point of Sale (POS) terminals including the Back Office terminalEnsure 2nd (second) Cashbuild designated Employee to be present with CIT money collectionEnsure daily takings are collected by the Cash in Transit (CIT) Company.Ready for BusinessEnsure Ready for Business processes implementedEnsure the Cashiers maintain their area of responsibilityEnsure the Cash Office is neat and tidy at all timesOnly Cash Office related documentation within the Cash Office and that all documentation is filed neatly and that all filing is up to datePeople ManagementEnsure that all Cashiers are present and available in their area of responsibility in order to assist Customers and perform all other responsibilities.Ensure Cashiers have a trained backup availableEnsure Cashiers execute their daily duties. (Ready for Business and Beyond my Control checklists).Ensure scheduling of subordinates is done on timeTake responsibility of Product Knowledge training to Cashiers as per Store Manager agreementScheduling and supervising of all Point of Sale (POS) Employees. (Leave, Time Off, Day off etc.)Monitor and evaluate performance of subordinatesEnsure all cashiers comply with the company dress codeSafety (OHSA) RequirementsEnsure that safety standards are adhered to.Security AwarenessBe aware of any suspicious people and / or activities. In the Store and outside.Password securityEnsure that the Cash Office is securedEnsure that the Cash Office door is always locked when Pick-Up's, Cash-Up's and Cash In Transit (CIT) collections are doneEnsure Till Pick up's are done within the set parametersNo unauthorised persons allowed in the Cash OfficeSafe keys are locked away and in safe custodyNo Rations, stock, and unrelated documentation to be kept in the Cash Office.Drive for resultsAchieves set targets and completes work accurately and at the required standardDelivers best practice quality/ standards as established in the companyMakes an effort to follow through on commitmentsSolve ProblemsIdentifies problems and seeks root causeResolves problems and escalates issues accordinglyUsing relevant information available in own department and operational work environment to resolve problemsMake DecisionsMakes decisions within framework of company policies and within set time linesMakes decisions giving due consideration to consequences of the decision made in area of responsibilityImplements decisions made in line with agreed processes and policiesPlanPlans within framework of operationally/department policies and proceduresManage PerformanceFollows through on commitments made and deliver on them to achieve set objectives and targetsTakes accountability for own and or subordinates actions and implements corrective action where requiredHandle PressureHandles pressure well and is consistent in controlling own responses irrespective of time/or workload pressuresCollaborateDemonstrates courtesy and willingness to assist when dealing with customers, suppliers and colleaguesAble to deal with daily conflict situations effectivelyCommunicateDemonstrates courtesy and effectiveness when dealing with others in day-to-day communication in line with company valuesEnsures relevant information is shared with appropriate stakeholders
