The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in navigating complex regulatory landscapes and implementing new financial services regulations. This role requires staying up to date with emerging regulations and standards and global transition planning initiatives like the Transition Plan Taskforce in the UK.Responsibilities:Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with existing and emerging sustainability regulations and standards relevant to the financial services sector.Risk Management: Identify and assess sustainability-related risks, providing strategic recommendations to mitigate these risks effectively.Project Management: Lead and oversee multiple engagements concurrently, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally, including clients and regulatory bodies.Communication: Communicate complex sustainability concepts and regulatory requirements clearly and effectively to various stakeholders.Strategy Development: Contribute to the development of sustainability strategies aligned with regulatory frameworks and industry best practices.Experience: Significant experience in the financial services sector, with a focus on sustainability risk management or related fields.Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of relevant regulations and standards (e.g., TCFD, CSRD, SDR, SS3/19).Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.Leadership: Experience in managing teams and providing mentorship and guidance.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences.Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships across various levels of an organization.Education: Bachelors degree in finance, business, sustainability, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM, sustainability certifications) preferred.Additional Requirements:Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities to assess and interpret data related to sustainability risks and opportunities.Adaptability: Ability to adapt to evolving regulatory landscapes and market conditions.Ethics: Commitment to ethical business practices and promoting sustainability within the financial services industry.
