We are seeking an experienced Surveyor to join our team in Durban. The successful candidate will have a strong background in surveying, particularly in roads and transport infrastructure projects. The Surveyor will be responsible for ensuring the accurate measurement and mapping of project sites, as well as providing surveying support to the project team. Key Responsibilities Site Surveys: Conduct site surveys to gather data and information for project planning, design, and construction. Measurement and Mapping: Measure and map project sites, including roads, bridges, and other transport infrastructure. Survey Data Management: Manage and analyse survey data, including GPS, total station, and levelling data. Setout and Control: Establish and maintain survey control networks, including setting out reference points and monitoring deformation. Quality Control: Ensure the accuracy and quality of survey data and deliverables. Team Support: Provide surveying support to the project team, including engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders. Report Writing: Prepare and submit survey reports, including data, maps, and other relevant information. Requirements Qualifications: BSc or BTech in Surveying (or relevant field) Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in surveying, particularly in roads and transport infrastructure projects Skills: Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, as well as strong communication and teamwork skills Certifications: Registration with the South African Geomatics Council (SAGC) or the Institute of Mine Surveyors of South Africa (IMSSA) would be an advantage Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of: Surveying principles and practices GPS, total station, and levelling technologies Survey software, including CAD and GIS South African surveying standards and regulations
