Clicks is looking to recruit a Supply Planner. The Purpose of this role is to effectively execute the inventory strategy in assigned categories to manage inventory flow into DC's and out to stores thereby ensuring optimum inventory levels.Job objectivesTo effectively develop and achieve replenishment plans based on establishing and maintaining business rules for lead times, safety stock, network, etc. and setting all replenishment parametersTo effectively manage and monitor budgets, receipt and inventory flowTo effectively validate monthly forecast and manage open to buy budgetTo achieve Infill and DC Availability metricsTo work with vendors and the DC on capacity planning in order to manage cost to serveTo provide forward visibility into all replenishment and ordering requirements both DC and store to minimize stock-outs and/or inventory overrunsTo drive maintaining the distribution network, safety stock levels, and improving customer service by making the product available to meet the demands throughout the distribution networkTo review and act on out of stocks, anticipated out of stocks and low stocks Clicks GroupTo work with the Demand Planner to create a match between supply and demandTo review causal data and determine reasons for inventory overages, underage's, excess, and aged stock and resolve with relevant stakeholderTo review promotional activities while in-flight to determine opportunitiesTo review and approve purchase orders and place manual purchase orders as necessaryTo ensure sufficient knowledge of all inventory locations and be able to source products from alternate locations to meet demand (deployment)To ensure continuous supplier reviews based on on-time and in full and engage to ensure corrective measures are takenTo collaborate with buyers, demand planners, suppliers, stores, warehousing, and transportation on inventory flow opportunities to drive cost savings and improved stock efficiencyTo ensure effective people management and developmentJob related knowledgeIndustry insight related to supply chain management, inventory management and vendor relationship management.FMCG, Supply Chain and LogisticsCommercial acumen – external focusWorking knowledge and ability to adjust and manage distribution networks, safety stock levels, replenishment parameters and customer service level needs.Requires knowledge on S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) and consensus processes.Understanding of customer needs and wants, trends, competitive environment and market shareDeep understanding of the consistent management and planning of the supplier base performance metrics, promotional planning cycle, product lifecycle, supply chain optimization for their products, business analysis and reportingFinancial planning models and methodologiesJob related skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, to build relationships and drive consensus and collaboration across functional groupsForecasting consumer trends and buying habits 9 – 24 months in the futurePresentation skills with focus being on oral and written communication skillsProficiency on MS Office Excel, Word, Outlook and Power PointProblem solvingStrong negotiating and influencing skillsAnalytics required to enable aboveMerchant math capability (variance to last year, percent of total, turn, Open-to-Buy etc.)business and financial analysis skills and knowledge to solve business problems and influence decision makingBusiness math acumen and analysis to comprehend financial information and reporting to make business decisions3 – 5 years re-buying experience and/or inventory analysisExperience with retail buying or supply chainExperience with Demand Planning or Supply Planning software preferredExperience in managing and leading teams preferredEducationBachelor's Degree in Statistics, Math, Logistics, Supply ChainJob related competencies:Deciding and Initiating ActionLeading and SupervisingWorking with PeopleRelating and NetworkingPersuading and InfluencingPlanning and OrganisingDelivering Results & Meeting Customer ExpectationsAchieving Personal Work Goals and Objectives
