Position: Supply Chain SpecialistReporting to: MP&L ManagerGeneral Job Description:This position is based in Uitenhage, South Africa. Reporting directly to the Materials Planning and Logistics Manager, this position will be responsible for developing and implementing a sales, inventory, and operations planning process to support the manufacturing process for all assigned plants.Role & Responsibilities:Develop and implement a Sale, Inventory, and Operations Planning Process for all assigned Plants (SIOP):Cross Functional reviews of customer demand (Market Intelligence and Customer Release)Ensure long horizon forecast is extended to all suppliers (52 week Forecast)Collect and Update Internal and External Capacity information (Plant Efficiency and Dana Committed capacity)Develop and Execute Strategies and action plans to address gaps between Demand and Capacity (How to fulfill forecasted demand)Control & Reduce Logistics costs:Improve utilization of planned trucks (Weekly planning of next week's required trucks)Improve cube or weight utilization of inbound trailersReduce and minimize utilization of Premium trucks including team trucks (Major focus on reducing team trucks between Mexico & US)Improve internal supply chain and materials flow between Dana plants (Utilize Value Stream Mapping)Work in a cross-functional team to optimize our freight and warehouse network, tying in forecast and order management logicProtection of Supply:Manage Dana Internal and External Escalation Process within Light Axle Plants (Daily Materials Manager Calls)Develop a strong Materials and Logistics Team (Daily calls and interaction between plants)Escalate potential supply issues to Purchasing if requiredAllocate parts between Dana plants if requiredEnsure suppliers are updating required information in the Supplier PortalManage all material alarms in One NetworkInventory Management:Develop and Implement Standard Material Replenishment processes (Kanban and Min-Max etc.)Implement Standard Inventory Forecasting and Planning toolsRecommend ERP parameter updates and develop standardsSAP:Assess existing IT infrastructure and recommending improvements.Developing and configuring customized SAP solutions.Writing scripts and programs to create user-friendly interfaces and enhanced functionalities.Deploying SAP solutions and ensuring smooth system integration.Troubleshooting and resolving issues to optimize performance.Providing SAP system support and end-user training.Performing rigorous documentation of SAP processes and presenting progress reports.Preparing reports or delivering presentations.Ensuring compliance with industry regulations.Keeping abreast of the latest SAP offerings, updates, and developments.Other duties as assignedEducation & Experience:Bachelor Degree and experience in Materials Management, logistics, and/or supply chainMust have excellent computer skills and thorough knowledge of MRP, MS Word, PowerPoint, and ExcelUnderstanding of Automotive industryMust be detail-oriented, proactive in anticipating requirements and able to work efficiently with minimal direction in a sometimes high-pressure environment.Committed to tasks and skilled at identifying and solving a variety of problems of broad scope and complexity with little to no supervision.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships at all levels of the organization.Ability to work in a multi-functional and multi-cultural environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong time management and organizational skillsTeam player attitude with the ability to influence othersAutonomous, organized and disciplined in a fast-paced environmentProficiency with ERP system focused on Logistics and warehousingAt least 2 years' experience as a SAP consultant in a similar industry.Current knowledge of SAP systems, deployment, and integration.Dana Spicer Axle South Africa (Pty) Ltd is committed to an organizational culture that recognizes and values inclusion and diversity.
