Job Purpose
The Mobility Department, Western Cape Government has an exciting employment opportunity for two (2) suitably qualified and competent individuals to handle all procurement and provision matters as well as the movable asset register.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification) with Accounting as a passed subject.
Recommendation
Relevant working experience.
Key Performance Areas
Handle the activities of orders, purchases, receiving, storing and issuing of goods and services; Assist in administering and handling tender and contract information; Handle activities in the maintenance of the supplier databases and registers; Assist in the management of the non-vehicle asset register (furniture, equipment, and store assets) - to be checked twice a year (by due dates) for financial statement purposes and two offices a week to maintain the PPE movable asset register; Handle activities in the furnishing of an office equipment support service.
Competencies
Good understanding of the following: Operations of a Trading Entity, GMT policies and SOP's, Financial and SCM Delegations, National Treasury Regulations, Provincial Treasury Instructions, and Public Finance Management Act (Act 1 of 1999); Revenue and expenditure recording and control as well as asset management; General office administration. Skills needed: Computer literate, organisational, financial reporting, leadership, good problem solving, conflict resolution, analytical thinking, ability to interpret relevant directives and policies, good verbal and writing communication and working numerical skills.
Remuneration
R 216 417.00 per annum (Salary level 5)
Note on remuneration: Service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc.) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
Notes
Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. These candidates will be required to do practical and attend interviews on a date and time determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency tests. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
