The Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for analyzing, controlling, and optimizing transportation processes and related systems to ensure the efficient movement of goods.
This role includes supporting procurement for inbound transportation, planning the CDC yard schedule, and overseeing the outbound flow of finished goods.
Key Responsibilities: Transport Analysis and Control: Analyze, control, and optimize transport processes for efficient and cost-effective movement of goods.
Develop strategic and operational plans to achieve transportation objectives.
Coordinate the offloading and loading of vehicles and ensure effective yard scheduling.
Ensure all documentation for dispatched goods is accurate and relevant.
Liaise with transport partners for daily planning and deliveries.
Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to transport operations, including route efficiency and costs.
Develop and maintain transportation metrics to track performance and vendor compliance.
System and Process Optimization: Review and optimize transportation, material handling, and system processes to enhance efficiency.
Collaborate with warehouse and sales teams to implement process improvements.
Conduct cost-benefit analyses on transport initiatives.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and monitor transportation expenses.
Customer Service Management: Build effective relationships with internal and external customers.
Resolve customer complaints promptly and provide necessary feedback.
Collaborate with customer service teams to analyze and improve delivery performance.
Compliance: Ensure operations comply with relevant laws and safety regulations.
Develop and enforce safety protocols to prevent workplace accidents.
Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with inventory processes and standards.
Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations on transport performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
Monitor expenditures against budgets and ensure compliance with financial processes.
Provide regular updates to management on transport operations and performance metrics.
Qualifications and Experience: Diploma in Logistics, Operations, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (NQF Level 7).
3-5 years of experience in a warehouse or supply chain environment, with at least 3 years in a senior management role.
Technical Competencies: Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI, SAP) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
Strong understanding of warehouse management systems and distribution processes.
Knowledgeable in Material Resource Planning (MRP) and project management.
