This position requires a solid mining background to manage the value chain on shift, optimise equipment usage, and respond quickly to any incidents, applying both mining experience and computer skills to maintain seamless operations.Minimum Requirements:Grade 12 or equivalentDrivers' licence with no restrictionsMinimum 3 years' experience in a trackless mining environment, with one year at a supervisory levelProficiency in using control room software and systems for monitoring operations, including SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, telemetry, and process control systemsBe declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant's suitability for employmentProven safety leadership capability with established safety campaign delivery recordProficient with safety regulations and procedures specific to underground mining operationsAccomplished frontline team and people leader with advanced inter and intra-team collaborationEffective communicator with sound spoken and written English communication skillsAbility to cope with ambiguity with high personal resilience, change adaptability and working independentlyDemonstrated proficiency in problem-solving and the ability to make informed decisions swiftlyAdvanced practical mining experience at supervisory level with sound appreciation for the full mining operational value chain, including equipment, and processesAbility to remotely troubleshoot and manage issues related to mining machinery and systemsUnderstanding of industry regulations, compliance requirements, and environmental considerationsEnsure compliance with all relevant safety, health, environmental, regulatory and related standards, regulations, and instructions, relevant Codes of Practice and the escalation process where deviations and non-compliance are observedCo-ordinate shift hand over by checking log sheets, physical Mining activities and communicate to relevant responsible personsRespond to alarms and emergencies and alert assigned/rostered management and response teams (e.g. Proto, ER24) during incidents, following all emergency protocolsResponsible for supervising the control room operators and ensuring continuous monitoring of underground systems such as seismic and fire detection, SCADA, blasting systems, etc.Liaise with the Production Manager and Mining Overseer to track production progressMonitor real time system information and communicate operational information and changes to relevant stakeholders to minimise delays in Mining and Engineering ServicesAssess breakdowns, prioritise work with engineering team, and escalate unresolved issues according to an established escalation protocolCreate and/or approve SAP work orders, manage stock reservations, and communicate resource needs to artisans and engineering teamsEnsure all system data feeds into reporting tools for tracking, compliance and production reports and analysisClosing Date: 30 December 2024Please note that the Gold Fields code of conduct strictly prohibits the exchange of any payment as part of its recruitment process.Gold Fields is committed to the achievement and maintenance of diversity and equity in employment.NOTE: All relevant certificates must be attached to your CV in order to be considered for shortlisting.
