Tsebo Facilities Solution is looking for a Gutter Cleaning Supervisor who will be responsible to oversee and coordinate the cleaning and maintenance of gutters to ensure proper water drainage and prevent damage to buildings.
Duties & Responsibilities
Task Allocation: Efficiently assign tasks to team members and ensure that all gutter cleaning jobs are completed according to schedule.
Staff Performance: Monitor, coach, and support the team to ensure high-quality work and adherence to safety protocols.
Motivation & Training: Provide ongoing training and motivation to the team to improve efficiency and ensure proper use of tools and techniques.
Planning and Scheduling: Create and manage work schedules to ensure that all gutter cleaning and maintenance tasks are performed on time, particularly before peak seasons like autumn or rainy periods.
Resource Allocation: Ensure that the necessary tools, equipment, and manpower are available and effectively utilized for each job.
Site Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of gutters and downspouts to assess their condition and identify potential issues like blockages, leaks, or structural damage.
Reporting: Prepare detailed inspection reports outlining any problems detected and provide recommendations for repairs or further maintenance.
Standard of Work: Ensure that all gutter cleaning and maintenance tasks meet company quality standards and client expectations.
Time Efficiency: Monitor time spent on each task to ensure jobs are completed efficiently without compromising quality.
Safety Procedures: Ensure that the team strictly adheres to safety standards, particularly when working at heights or in hazardous conditions.
Risk Assessment: Regularly assess and mitigate potential risks, including ensuring the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining safety protocols like ladder handling and fall protection.
Client Interaction: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, providing updates on the progress of the cleaning jobs and addressing any concerns or questions.
Problem Resolution: Handle complaints and service issues professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining strong client relationships.
Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all gutter cleaning tools, ladders, and safety equipment are in good working condition. Arrange for repairs or replacements when needed.
Inventory Management: Maintain a record of supplies and equipment and ensure that the team has the necessary materials for each job.
Job Completion Reports: Accurately document completed jobs, including before-and-after assessments, to keep track of work progress and ensure accountability.
Maintenance Logs: Maintain detailed records of gutter inspections, repairs, and cleaning schedules for future reference and client communication.
Time and Resource Optimization: Ensure that jobs are completed on time and within budget, avoiding overtime and unnecessary expenditure on equipment or materials.
Performance Reviews: Conduct regular performance reviews of the team and processes to identify areas for improvement.
Innovation: Introduce new techniques or technologies to improve gutter cleaning processes, reduce time, or increase work quality.
ISO 9001; 14001 & 18001 – Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Standards: Adhere to the TFS's Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) Management System's Policies & Procedures applicable to this position.
Skills and Competencies
Understanding gutter systems, downspouts, drainage, and waterproofing.
Knowledge of basic construction and maintenance tools.
Strong supervisory and team management skills to guide the cleaning crew.
Ability to allocate tasks, monitor performance, and ensure timely completion of cleaning schedules.
Ability to troubleshoot gutter-related issues, such as identifying causes of water damage or drainage problems.
Capable of making quick decisions regarding repairs or alternative cleaning techniques.

Qualifications
2-5 Years of experience in gutter cleaning, maintenance, or construction work.
Supervisory experience: A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a maintenance or construction setting.
Hands-on experience: Practical experience working with ladders, lifts, gutter cleaning tools, and handling minor repairs such as fixing gutters and downspouts is essential.
Grade 12 or equivalent (must).
Driver's License (must).
Medically fit and able to work at heights (must).
Working at Heights certificate (must).
MEWP License (advantageous).
Fall protection plan developer (advantageous).
Knowledge of OHS Act.
Knowledge of Construction regulations.
