Job Title: Supervisor Engineering Boilermaker UG Requisition Number : KLF 0060052 Reference : KLF AD0009100 Type of Employment : Permanent Location : Operating Segment Gold West Wits Function : Engineering Job Grading : C4 Role Overview The Supervisor Engineering Boilermaker UG is responsible for supervising and supporting boilermaking operations to ensure compliance with safety, technical, and operational standards in an underground mining environment.
This role emphasizes stakeholder relations, cost management, SHE compliance, and workforce development to achieve organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities Operational Management Support the Business Area Plan by assisting in developing and executing operational objectives.
Plan daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance schedules, including spares and resources allocation.
Oversee and inspect boilermaking work for quality, compliance, and safety standards.
Proactively identify, discuss, and resolve problems overlapping with other sections.
Crisis Management and Safety Take charge during crises and major overhauls/maintenance.
Conduct risk assessments, hazard reporting, and safety inspections.
Ensure compliance with SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) standards and cultivate a SHE leadership culture.
Administration Complete accurate reports for safety, hazards, incidents, and risks.
Ensure engineering data is captured on time and accurately for operational and technical management systems.
Review operational and technical data to identify trends and compile management reports.
Stakeholder and Financial Management Build and maintain relationships across organizational levels and with external entities.
Source, negotiate, and manage contracts with service providers.
Manage budgets, operational expenditures, and lead cost-saving initiatives.
Quality Assurance Approve Quality Management System (QMS) documents and maintain compliance.
Ensure that welding and repairs meet technical and legal standards.
Monitor the quality of workmanship through regular inspections.
People Management Provide coaching, on-the-job training, and mentorship to staff.
Manage team performance and allocate tasks fairly.
Ensure succession planning, disciplinary supervision, and development of team members.
Requirements The Appointee Should Have Minimum Requirements Qualification as a Boilermaker .
Foreman Certificate (must be obtained within 24 months for internal employees without the certificate).
At least 5 years' experience in a related role, including shaft repair work.
Medically fit for the specific business area.
Clear security screening record.
Valid driver's license (if applicable).
Additional Requirements Supervisory experience is advantageous.
