Job Code: 6912 Cowan International is recruiting a Superintendent Financial Planning & Analysis (Surintendant Planification Financière et Analyse) for a world-renowned copper mining company.
Reporting to the Senior Superintendent Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), you will work in the Management Accounting department, within FP&A, which provides critical financial insights for strategic decision-making. It develops budgets, forecasts, and performance analyses to guide business planning and improve profitability. Additionally, it supports operational efficiency and cost management to enhance overall financial performance.
You will manage the development and execution of financial plans, budgets, and forecasts ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals. You will manage control costs against the approved budgets and analyze financial performance, providing actionable insights, and supporting management in decision-making to enhance overall financial health and efficiency. You will also supervise the work of a Superintendent II Financial Planning and Analysis and Superintendent II Capex Management and Analysis.
Responsibilities Coordinate the effective implementation of efficient Management Accounting and Fixed Asset Management structures, policies, plans, and governance structures.Manage and consolidate the budget preparation process for all sections for the coming fiscal year in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Compile internal Management Accounting reports as and when required, including input into the Performance and Cost Review Meetings (PCR) per section within their area of responsibility.Coordinate KCSA's Fixed Asset management and disposal processes.Drive effective problem solving and continuous improvement.Function as a Financial Planning and Analysis subject matter expert.Manage relationships with stakeholders to enable optimization of the business value chain.Coordinate, monitor, and supervise the performance of direct reports.Provide input into the department budget.Support the Transformation agenda.Integrate HSEQ into all work processes.Manage reporting best practices for the area of responsibility. Requirements A Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent commercial qualification, preferably a post-graduate degree or diploma in accounting or finance or equivalent, and CIMA/CPA qualification or working towards.CIMA/CPA registration highly advantageous.5-10 years' relevant experience in Financial, Management Accounts, and Fixed Asset management.Experience in the mining environment is preferred and highly advantageous.Financial modeling and budgeting skills.Understanding of DRC legislation, tax laws, accounting principles, standards, and procedures and compliance requirements.International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).Accounting and amortization of assets.Competent in mining and ERP systems.Advanced Computer literacy for the role - MS Office Software (i.e., advanced Excel skills).Policy development.Fluency in French is essential. Proficiency in business English is mandatory.Swahili and Mandarin highly advantageous.
