For us, public innovation is simply the process of making the world a better place for all people, in synergy with nature.The Sukuthula Gender-based Violence Initiative is a dynamic initiative dedicated to addressing gender-based violence (GBV) in the Eastern Cape and Limpopo provinces. Our mission is to empower communities through strategic grants using a model of trust-based grant-making through multiyear, flexible funding with streamlined processes and systems, and more decision-making power in the hands of the grantee partners and communities most affected by GBV. Through our Sukuthula Gender-based Violence Initiative, we aim to drive positive change by supporting grassroots initiatives.The Charlize Theron Africa Project, the Elizabeth Taylor Foundation and DGMT fund the project.Minimum RequirementsA minimum undergraduate or post-graduate qualification in the social sciences or related fields.At least 3 – 5 years of full-time work experience in the civil society sector, development, public administration or equivalent.A highly self-motivated individual who can work independently.Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, as well as a team player.A sense of innate curiosity, empathy, and enjoyment in engaging in a wide range of work.Analytical, with the ability to think strategically.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent computer skills including use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.Ability to manage self in a complex and dynamic work environment.Detail-oriented and meticulous in planning and executing all functions.Proactive and goal-oriented.Confident, and able to share ideas.Able to coordinate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal.Able to anticipate key needs and act independently to solve problems.A high degree of flexibility and responsiveness to evolving needs.Additional qualifications or experience that will be an added advantageIt would be an advantage if you can speak isiXhosa, Tshivenda or Sepedi.ResponsibilitiesProvide administrative support to the Sukuthula Gender-based Violence Initiative team, including organizing and maintaining files, databases, and records.Research GBV-related topics and compile relevant information for educational materials and reports.Provide support in monitoring and evaluating program activities.Assist in maintaining the Sukuthula Unmute website and social media platforms, including updating content, engaging with followers and collaborating with the DGMT Communications team.Provide logistical support during workshops and events, including setting up venues, coordinating catering, and managing participant registration.Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the Sukuthula Gender-based Violence Initiative.How to applyApplicants should submit their CV and motivational letter (one document) by 25 November 2024 by clicking here.
