Position Overview The Student Support Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating a range of services aimed at enhancing the academic and personal success of our students. This role involves managing student services and support programs, providing direct assistance to students, and working closely with academic and administrative staff to ensure that students' needs are met. The Student Support Manager will also play a key role in developing strategies and programs to improve student engagement, retention, and overall well-being.
Duties and Responsibilities Serve as a liaison between students and various campus departments. Address student concerns, grievances, and complaints, providing guidance and referrals to appropriate resources. Collaborate with lecturing and support staff to identify students who may need additional support and intervene when necessary. Assist in managing student crises and emergencies, providing support and intervention as needed. Provide one-on-one support for students facing academic challenges, personal issues, or crisis situations. Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of student support programs and services. Act as a point of contact for students requiring academic, personal, or financial support, ensuring they are connected with appropriate resources. Maintain regular communication with students through newsletters, social media, and other channels to keep them informed about campus events, resources, and updates. Provide guidance to students in navigating academic policies, procedures, and campus resources. Coordinate workshops, seminars, and events focused on student success, well-being, and personal development. Facilitate student involvement in campus life and encourage participation in support programs. Ensure that students' academic and personal challenges are addressed in a timely and compassionate manner. Maintain accurate records of student interactions and support services provided. Prepare reports on student success outcomes, program effectiveness, and student satisfaction. Create and implement initiatives designed to engage students in academic and extracurricular activities. Develop strategies to improve student retention, particularly for at-risk populations. Organise and facilitate orientation programs for new students, helping them acclimate to campus life and resources. Collaborate with student organisations, clubs, and societies to promote student involvement and leadership. Maintain accurate records of student interactions, concerns, and resolutions. Prepare reports on student issues, engagement activities, and program outcomes for review. Skills and Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, or a related field. At least three years of experience in a similar role. Experience working with diverse student populations, including underrepresented or at-risk groups. Previous experience in working in a tertiary institution would be advantageous. Personal Competencies The successful candidate is expected to:

Possess strong communication skills, both oral and written (English). Be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
