II. Major Responsibilities: Provides clear, timely communication to the RN regarding observations and changes seen in patient/s.Participates in the development and maintenance of a safe environment.Assists patients with daily living activities.Assists in moving, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients.Maintains patient safety by performing patient safety checks.Takes and records vital signs.Performs EKGs, Point of Care (POC) tests, and bladder scanning.Assists RN/Licensed Independent Practitioner with treatments and procedures.Observes, measures, and records oral food and fluid intake.Assists with patient admissions, transfers, and discharge procedures.Replenishes patient and unit supplies and equipment.Answers telephone using appropriate etiquette.Complies with center-wide policies and with nursing department and unit-based policies.Attends staff meetings and in-service programs.Participates in unit-based quality improvement initiatives.Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.Standard Staffing Level Responsibilities: Complies with established departmental policies.Attends meetings, conferences, seminars as required.Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations.Complies with all health and safety regulations.Respects diverse views and approaches.Maintains regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.Performs other similar and related duties as required.All responsibilities are essential job functions.
II. Position Qualifications: License/Certification/Education: Minimum of a high school education or GED.Current Basic Life Support or Heart Saver certification.Experience/Skills: Demonstrated clinical experience in a clinical setting.Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.Must utilize proper safety techniques and body mechanics.Must have strong interpersonal skills.Must have proven problem-solving abilities.Must be able to remain calm under stress.Preferred: Prior inpatient/outpatient care experience.Medical Terminology and computer skills.Unless certification, licensure, or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
