The University also uses third-party technologies to promote degree programmes, courses, conferences and exhibitions on websites and social media to show you the most relevant offers.Student Assistant for MUWUG research project at the Centre of African Studies, University of CopenhagenThe Centre of African Studies (CAS) on the South Campus of the University of Copenhagen (UCPH) seeks a part-time Student Assistant, as soon as possible, to join an exciting team of researchers working within the project Multiple Waterscapes in Urban Ghana (MUWUG).MUWUG is a five-year Danida funded research project based at the Centre of African Studies (CAS) on the South Campus. It started in April 2024 and will run until March 2029. We are looking for a part-time Student Assistant (SA), available to work for a minimum of one year and preferably more, based in Copenhagen. The successful applicant will become part of a dynamic team of researchers.MUWUG (Multiple Waterscapes in Urban Ghana) is an international research collaboration between Copenhagen University, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana, the Danish Institute for International Studies and the Geneva Water Hub. It investigates how poorer residents in different parts of Ghana's second city, Kumasi, access clean drinking water under conditions of climate change. It asks what the differentiated practises of access to drinking water in Kumasi are, and how can a comprehensive knowledge of these practices inform policy. The project engages with state of the art literature on waterscapes and combines this with an historically informed analytical framework. MUWUG is led by an interdisciplinary team of scholars with expertise in African studies, history, water studies, economics and anthropology.The Student Assistant will provide crucial support to MUWUG in a number of key areas such as:Managing the MUWUG website and taking care of communication across different platforms and channels.Monitoring and curating relevant research resources to support MUWUG researchers.Supporting the Principal Investigator in other designated tasks.Providing necessary organizational support for MUWUG conferences, workshops, and seminars, including taking part in shaping activities such as exhibitions and other creative ways to communicate research.Having a very high level of written and oral English.Having completed a bachelor's degree.Having a minimum of one year of MA studies remaining.Having strong proven skills in written, visual and verbal communication, including in the use of online/digital media.Having good administrative and/or organizational experience.Being able to work independently and take initiative.Being able and willing to take on ad hoc tasks and occasionally work under pressure.Being a good team-worker and able to relate to a diverse range of people in an international environment.Terms and conditions:The employment is made in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and the Organisations of Public Employees – governmental institutions (the OAO-S collective agreement) and under the Professional Agreement for clerical employees, laboratory technicians and IT officers in the state.The minimum wage is DKK 140,56 (1 April 2024-level). Your salary will be based on seniority.To be considered for the position, you must be enrolled and active as a student at university level.Working hours will be 7.5 hours per week on average, usually distributed across two weekdays, but with a need for flexibility depending on the concentration of workload.The position is time-limited until 5 January 2028.Application process / submission:Applications should include a letter of motivation, an updated CV, and evidence of current studies (enrolment certificate and grade transcript).Your application must be submitted by 2 January 2025.
