Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Strategic Sourcing Specialist to be placed in Head Office - Bedfordview. The successful candidate will report to the Supply Chain Manager.The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to: Develop, execute and evaluate local and international strategic sourcing procedures in line with regulations, organisational / project and procurement BBBEE requirements Drive product sourcing and negotiate contracts with suppliers, including product pricing, associated costs and terms of supply, service and quality in line with organisational / project requirements and M&RCs standards, procedures and policies During tendering phase, interact with host communities with an aim towards driving and enabling M&RC to submit complying bids and improving chances for successful award and reaching M&RC commitment to supply chain Inclusive Procurement objectives Lead the interface between supply chain, operations and the communities through strong interface management Collaborate with the procurement contracts team to ensure contracts are aligned as negotiated with suppliers / partners Conduct market research on current and new products and create cost estimates and forecasts Conduct commodity spend and market trend analysis, such that analysis / trends informs purchasing decisions and the development of cost reduction strategies Effective engagement cross-functionally to ensure understanding of commodity specifications and project requirements, work closely with the estimating team, ensure early involvement at the tender stage Develop and maintain strategic sourcing relationships, cultivate strong partnerships with suppliers locally and internationally Maintain SharePoint as a repository for all strategic sourcing documentation, reports and supplier information Comply with M&RC's policies, standards, procedures, safety protocols and relevant local and international legislation Proactive risk analyses, identification and mitigation Effective self-management and alignment with M&RC values and leadership initiatives Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills: BCom in Supply Chain Management or similar level tertiary qualification at NQF 7 Proficient in MS Office [Word, Advanced Excel and Pivot tables essential] Entrepreneurial and commercial thinking skills with in-depth understanding of strategic sourcing Sound analytical, logical reasoning, judgement and decision making skills Ability to apply expertise and technology, deliver results and meet customer expectations Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to persuade, negotiate and facilitate understanding at all levels Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills at all levels Suitable candidates must have the following work experience: Minimum 6 years of high level experience in elements of end-to-end supply chain management i.e. strategic sourcing capital procurement, negotiations, supply chain design, inventory management and demand planning, and import & export protocols, preferably in a mining, engineering or construction environment Experience in developing and executing strategic sourcing procedures Experience in conducting research, analysing industry trends, creating cost estimates and forecasts Experience in sourcing strategic partners and suppliers in both local and international markets Experience in and solid understanding of import – export protocols, customs & excise, Reserve bank & other statutory requirements related international trade Experience in a project environment in the mining, engineering and construction industry is desirable Proven experience in Inclusive Procurement and dealing with Clients and Host Communities Knowledge of the mining industry (advantageous) Basic knowledge and understanding of the BBBEE Preferential Procurement Codes and the implications of non-compliance Possess generalist legal knowledge, including sales and service level agreements etc. Effective self-management and alignment with M&RC values and leadership initiatives All appointments will be done in line with our employment equity strategy.
