Stores Supervisor

Location: Philippi, Cape Town - South Africa
POSITION PURPOSE To ensure the overall efficient running of the Stores, ensuring that inventory, stock control, raw materials, and despatch of goods are effectively organised and implemented
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Ensure that raw materials are available when needed by productionResponsible for the inventory control of raw materialsResponsible for managing outwork and monitoring the amount of outworkResponsible for preparing the materials management budgetActively manage inventory days and inventory levelsResponsible for the accuracy and timeliness of materials documentationSet and maintain the minimum and maximum inventory levelsResponsible for taking stock and the accuracy of that informationEnsure that the inventory is secureIdentify all stock into categories and ensure real-time recordingEnsure that all inventory is receipted and issued accuratelyWORKING CONDITIONS Working conditions are reflective of those required to accomplish the essential functions of the job. The working environment includes office, plant production floor, and outside exposed to elements. Physical activity required includes walking and standing approximately seventy percent of the time. Occasional lifting of up to 15kg with some bending, stooping, and climbing required.

ProfileKNOWLEDGE & SKILLS At least 5 years working experience in a Stores/ Warehouse role within a manufacturing environment is essential.Experience in the management of raw materials, inventory and stock control, waste management and stores principlesStrong people leadership skills with proven experience of at least 2 to 3 yearsStrong numerical skills are important as well as a proven ability to plan and organise wellComputer literate – MS Office applications NB as well as prior experience in ERP systemsShows a pro-active attitude with a focus on finding solutions + strong analytical skillsCombines strong technical qualities with an open and enthusiastic communication style (at all levels)Has the ability to analyse current work methodologies and processes, from planning to deliveryUnderstanding of management accountingExcellent communication skills, both written and oralAbility to interact all levels within the organisation as well as external stakeholders (i.e. suppliers)
