Main job function The Storeman is responsible for the efficient and accurate management of stock and equipment, ensuring that all stock is correctly received, stored, recorded and dispatched.
The individual is responsible for ensuring that installation teams have the necessary materials needed for job sites.
Warehouse/Stock Management: Maintain accurate records of stock levels and stock movements, including goods received and dispatched.Perform regular counting and recording of stock.Properly label, organize, and store materials and tools according to their designated location in the Warehouse.Provide prompt support to installers or administrative staff in resolving stock-related queries.Prepare stock lists for job sites based on requirements provided by Management/Installation Team Leaders.Monitor stock levels, compile and submit orders to suppliers timeously.Receive goods from suppliers as well as and stock returned from site.Drive to collect orders from suppliers as and when required.Check orders against stock received and ensure all materials are in good condition.If goods received are incorrect, obtain a credit note from the supplier.Ensure that all relevant paperwork (e.g., delivery notes, receipts, inventory reports) are completed accurately and in a timely manner.Ensure tools and equipment are in good working order and repaired if needed.Sign tools and equipment in and out to installation teams.Assemble various items required for site, such as concrete boxes and DB's and construct steel frames and battery rigs.Adhere to all health and safety regulations and ensure that the Warehouse environment and yard are kept safe, tidy, clean and organized.
Periodically clean roof and gutters and ensure the electric fence is functioning properly.Identify and report any health and safety risks or hazards within the Warehouse or around the yard.Ensure equipment such as forklifts, jacks, etc.
are used accordance with safety guidelines.Any other duties as directed by your manager from time to time.Staff Supervision: Ensure employees are productive and adheres to performance standards by setting clear goals, providing open feedback, and measuring success.Monitor performance and engage in performance counselling where necessary to guide and assist employees in reaching performance goals.Ensure compliance with internal policies and rules of conduct and implement disciplinary action fairly and consistently in accordance with the Company's Disciplinary Code.
Ensure issues of misconduct and performance are addressed timeously.Foster a positive team culture and engage in regular communication with staff to motivate them and to keep them informed of Company related information.Identify staff training gaps, as well as growth and development needs and ensure this is addressed adequately and timeously.Approval of all leave in accordance with the Leave Policy and ensure staff adheres to leave management procedures.Identify and resolve staff grievances timeouslyRequirements Communication and listening skills.Organized and methodical.High level of accuracy.Strong attention to detail and safety protocols.Staff management and supervision.Team player.Computer literacy and MS Excel proficiency.Physically fit and able to lift heavy itemsValid Driver's license and license card.
