Job Description: Senior Stock ControllerJob Summary:180 Degrees Foods (Pty) Ltd, (Known as 180 Degrees Catering and Confectionery) is a leading catering and confectionery business committed to delivering high-quality, ready-to-eat meals, platters, specialty cakes, pastries, and impulse items.We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly experienced Senior Stock Controller.
This role is critical in ensuring the effective management of stock and inventory, adhering to local and internationally recognized food safety standards such as R638, GFSI, SANS 10040:2019, HACCP, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000 and other relevant legislations.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of stock control processes, food safety compliance, and best practices in inventory management within a food production environment.Key ResponsibilitiesStock Control and Inventory Management:Oversee stock levels for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods to meet production and sales demands.Conduct regular stock counts, cycle counts, and inventory audits to ensure accuracy.Implement and enforce FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expired, First Out) inventory systems.Track and manage stock movement, including receiving, issuing, and dispatching items.Minimize stock loss through effective waste management and expiry tracking.Food Safety Compliance:Ensure all stock handling and storage practices comply with R638, GFSI, SANS 10040:2019, HACCP, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000 and other relevant legislations.Regularly inspect storage areas, including temperature-controlled units (freezers, cold rooms, and chillers), for compliance with food safety guidelines.Monitor and document temperature records and storage conditions for traceability.Operational Coordination:Work closely with procurement, production, and dispatch teams to align stock availability with operational needs.Manage and resolve discrepancies in deliveries, including damaged or incorrect stock.Oversee the documentation of waste, expired stock, and non-conformances.Reporting and Documentation:Prepare detailed stock and inventory reports for management review.Maintain comprehensive records of batch numbers, expiry dates, and supplier information for all stock items.Assist in audits and inspections related to stock and food safety compliance.Team Leadership and Training:Supervise and guide junior stock control staff.Conduct training sessions on stock control practices and food safety compliance for team members.Promote a culture of accountability and excellence in stock management.Qualifications and ExperienceEssential Requirements:Education:A diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management, or a related field is preferred.Experience:Minimum of 3 - 5 years in a stock control role within a food production, catering, or confectionery environment.Proven track record of implementing and managing inventory systems compliant with R638, GFSI, SANS 10040:2019, HACCP, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000 and other relevant legislations.Technical Skills:Proficient in inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Sage, or similar systems).Strong understanding of temperature control and stock rotation principles.Advanced knowledge of food safety and quality assurance requirements.Preferred Attributes:Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.Analytical mindset with keen attention to detail.Strong leadership and team management skills.Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.Why Join Us?Competitive remuneration package.Opportunity to work with a dynamic team in a fast-paced and innovative environment.Play a critical role in upholding food safety standards in a growing business.Job Type: Full-timePay: R8000,00 - R15000,00 per monthApplication Deadline: 2024/11/18
