JOB SUMMARY:
The Stock Controller for the Pattern Shop is responsible for maintaining inventory levels of patterns, materials, tools, and equipment required for production. This role ensures that all inventory is accurately tracked, ordered, and organized to meet the operational needs of the pattern shop. The Stock Controller plays a crucial role in maintaining production efficiency and minimizing downtime caused by inventory shortages.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate records of stock levels for patterns, raw materials, and tools used in the pattern shop.
Perform regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies with system records.
Monitor stock levels to ensure adequate supply and prevent overstocking or stockouts.
Update and manage inventory databases and systems regularly.
Stock Ordering:
Collaborate with Buyer to ensure timely delivery of materials and tools.
Place purchase orders based on stock levels and production needs.
Track incoming deliveries and ensure all orders are complete and accurate.
Stock Distribution:
Allocate and distribute materials and tools to the pattern shop as required.
Ensure that all tools and patterns are returned to their designated storage locations after use.
Quality Control:
Inspect incoming materials and patterns for defects or quality issues.
Report any quality issues to management and arrange for replacements or returns if necessary.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain documentation of stock movements, purchase orders, and deliveries.
Provide regular pattern inventory reports.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Ensure that the storage and handling of materials comply with safety standards.
Maintain an organized, safe, and clean stockroom and pattern storage area.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a stock controller, ideally within a manufacturing or pattern shop environment – This is a critical requirement.
Proficiency in inventory control system and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Knowledge of pattern-making processes and materials (preferred but not essential).

Pay: R71,33 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
