Durban. Leading, growing company within the Steel industry seeks External Sales Representative with a solid sales track record and experience in dealing with hardwearing and high strength structural steel merchant plants as well as normal carbon steels. Thorough knowledge of these steel types and their respective applications is essential.
Responsibilities:Identifying opportunities to improve sales performance.Preparing quotes.Monitoring market conditions and competitors.Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers.Requirements:Solid track record specializing in the marketing of hardwearing and high strength structural steel merchant plates as well as normal carbon steels (S355JR-AR).Thorough knowledge of the above-mentioned steel types and their respective applications.Some experience in the cut to size market would be ideal.Existing client base within the Steel industry will be an advantage.Must be self-disciplined and self-motivated - will be on the road 90% of the time.Excellent persuasive and negotiation skills.Computer skills - MS Word, MS Excel, and Outlook.Willing to be away from home for prolonged periods of time if required.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Good interpersonal and presentation skills.
