Job title : Statutory and Tax AnalystJob Location : Gauteng, JohannesburgDeadline : January 30, 2025Quick Recommended Links Jobs by Location Job by industries What you'll do: Tax Planning and Compliance: Ensure accurate tax planning, reporting, and compliance for all sub-Saharan Africa entities, including VAT, corporate taxes, and withholding taxes; Technical Accounting Support: Provide support to ensure compliance with IFRS and implement new accounting policies on time; Audit Coordination: Assist the Zone Statutory Manager in zone audits and manage statutory compliance, including external audits and AFS compilation; Record Maintenance: Organize and maintain records of tax payments, assessments, refunds, and payments; Tax Enquiries Management: Prepare responses and liaise with SARS to resolve tax inquiries and follow up on outstanding matters; Operational Compliance: Determine and manage operational requirements for compliance with relevant tax acts and statutory requirements; Internal Controls Improvement: Create and implement procedures to enhance internal controls and streamline financial processes; Financial Guidance: Provide financial guidance to operations management to protect corporate assets and ensure expected returns; Compliance Reporting: Ensure accuracy in monthly and annual reporting, including participation in bi-annual tax risk meetings; Ad-Hoc Support: Assist with additional financial requests, BBBEE compliance, company secretarial tasks, and support audits in other countries as needed. Qualifications: Degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited institution is required; Minimum of +3 years of professional accounting experience is required; Experience within a Big 4 company Skills: Sound working knowledge of SAP/Syspro beneficial; Technical capability to prepare, analyze and interpret financial and operational data/reports; Strong knowledge of accounting standards ( GAAP , IFRS ); Knowledge of Oracle and Thomson Reuters system.
