AGR 56/2024Department: AgricultureSalary Level: 8Job Type: PermanentLocation: Elsenburg, Western Cape, South AfricaClosing Date: 2025/01/27Enquiries: Ms R Samuel at (021) 808 5312Job Purpose: The Department of Agriculture, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to render a finance-budgeting and reporting service to all programmes and components within the Western Cape Department of Agriculture.Minimum Requirements:An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification) in Financial / Management Accounting or Financial Management;A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a financial environment.Recommendation: A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence.
NB: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.Key Performance Areas:Co-ordinate the SCOA toning process for the Department;Effective co-ordination, compilation, registration and control of the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) to ensure an efficient budgetary function for the department;Compilation of projections for the monthly In Year Monitoring System;Assisting in the facilitation and implementation of the Original and Adjustment budget process in the Department as per National Treasury requirements;Asset register of the component is updated on an ongoing basis by facilitating ad-hoc checks;Tariffs Register.Knowledge:Strong Financial background specifically in Public Sector Finance;Administrative procedures relating to specific working environment including norms and standards;BAS and Vulindleia Systems;Relevant legislation, directions and procedures regarding financial management.Skills:Proven Computer literacy in MS Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);Communication (written and verbal) skills;Ability to work with large excel files and attentive to detail;Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Remuneration: R 376 413 per annum (Salary level 8).Note on remuneration: Service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.Notes: Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting.
