You will be expected to have good interpersonal and communication skills to deal with the numerous patients that visit outpatients daily.The successful candidate will undertake a range of clinical duties as delegated by the OPD Sister or Staff Nurse in Charge, putting the patient first.
You will be expected to record any care or intervention you provide as delegated by the OPD Sister/Nurse in Charge.
The ability to work at pace, following advice and instruction outlined by medical and/or senior nursing staff is essential.
You should be able to work alone or as part of a team within your NMC Code of Practice.Previous experience in an acute hospital setting/outpatient is an advantage.Main duties of the jobYou will support outpatients, focusing on working in clinics to assist patients during their outpatient journey.
Duties include welcoming patients to the clinic, explaining who they will see, performing any baseline observations requested by the clinician, being a chaperone, and ensuring that the clinic starts and finishes on time.
You will be expected to be competent with using information technology as you will work with electronic patient records.
