The purpose of this position will be to facilitate different sports codes within the Hemel-en-Aarde Education Programme. The position will work closely with the Life Skills Manager.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Sports Programme Development and ImplementationPlan, organise and deliver age-appropriate sports activities and training sessions.Develop structured training schedules that incorporate a variety of sports disciplines, including individual and team-based activities.Adapt coaching techniques to accommodate learners of varying skill levels.Assist with the management of volunteers and service providers.Learner DevelopmentAssess learners' physical abilities and set achievable goals for their growth and development.Provide guidance to learners on sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork and leadership.Encourage and support learners' participation in local and regional sports events and competitions.Track learner attendance and participation monthly.Event CoordinationOrganise and oversee interschool or intercentre sports competitions and friendly matches.Assist with planning and execution of annual sports events and award ceremonies.Coordinate logistics for learners participating in external tournaments or sports-related excursions.Facility and Resource ManagementEnsure that sports equipment and facilities are well maintained, safe and suitable for use.Collaborate with the principal to requisition sports equipment and supplies.Monitoring and ReportingTrack learner attendance, participation and progress in the sports programme.Provide regular reports to the principal on sports programme outcomes.Maintain records of competitions, achievements and notable performances.Collaboration and TeamworkWork alongside other staff members to integrate sports with life skills and academic programmes.Engage with parents and guardians to promote the value of sports in their children's development.Support the academy in other activities and initiatives as needed.Requirements: Relevant Diploma with 2-4 years' relevant experience in youth development, sports coaching or community work.Background in Education, Community Work, Coaching or Sports Management.Strong knowledge of a variety of sports and physical fitness training methods.Ability to engage and inspire young learners to participate in sports.Understanding of child development and how to incorporate it into sports programmes.Demonstrate leadership in programme planning and design.Fluent in written and spoken Afrikaans and English.A valid driving license and reliable transport.
