Introduction
SPAR South Rand is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Sponsorship Controller to join their dynamic team.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITIONBased in Jet Park, the purpose of the position is to provide administrative support to the Events (Sponsorship) Controller and Inland Advertising & Promotions Manager, including assisting with events and projects when necessary; as well as assist with driving the SPAR brand in the communities we serve through implementation of the Sponsorship Pillars.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Handle admin tasks for the Sponsorship department
Handle logistics relating to venue booking, catering, equipment set up and payments
Ensure that all invoices and orders for Sponsorship department have the required authorisation before the PO is originated
Ensure timeous payments to suppliers
Oversee event registration and attendee tracking
Stock control and monthly stock-take
Build and maintain strategic working relationships with Suppliers, Retailers and within the DC
Involvement in and support of all Sponsorship related initiatives and events
Handle any other ad hoc functions as required of the role or by management
Help to coordinate all events and functions (at retail/sporting/internal or strategic/ad hoc events) and act as a second support to your line manager for all events
AS400/SSBU, SAP and SharePoint experience
Computer literacy is essential (MS Office with Intermediate level of Excel and PowerPoint)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Must have a high stress tolerance and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Have passion for the SPAR brand
Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends and overtime as per operational requirements
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Exceptional accuracy, attention to detail and self-driven to achieve results
Must have a valid drivers' license
Must be adaptable to job-related demands, customer focused and have sound problem-solving skills
