MSK Specialist Physiotherapist
Fixed Term / Secondment Opportunity up until 08/09/2025
37 hours per week (Part time or job share would be considered)
An opportunity has arisen for two MSK specialist Physiotherapists to join our Inverness and Ross-shire MSK Physiotherapy Team, for a fixed term.
You will be expected to deliver a high standard of evidence-based, safe and quality MSK care. You will hold your own MSK caseload with approximately 70-80% of the role being clinical, and you will also be expected to lead, train, and supervise others in the team, such as band 3-5 physiotherapy staff.
You will work as part of an MSK physiotherapy team that collaborates with secondary and primary care providers, including consultants, GP/FCPS colleagues, and other community stakeholders. You will be supported and networked within this role with other NHSH Physiotherapy MSK colleagues and MSK professional leaders. You will also engage in your own CPD and work on small MSK service improvement projects as part of the agreed MSK NHSH clinical subgroup plan.
Applicants will be expected to travel and provide MSK clinical cover, which may include a range of sites including Inverness, Invergordon, Tain, and Dingwall.
You will have experience working in the field of MSK Physiotherapy and possess clinical knowledge and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of MSK conditions.
Your base can be negotiated depending on where you live but must enable regular working within the Inverness and Ross-Shire areas.
This is one of the most beautiful and popular locations in the Highlands, providing an excellent work/life balance with immediate access to excellent schools and outdoor pursuits, including mountain activities, water sports, cycling, and skiing.

NHS Highland is geographically the largest of the 14 regional boards of NHS Scotland, covering an area of 12,500 square miles, across Highland and Argyll & Bute.
As a board, we strive to ensure the environment is conducive to nurturing a positive culture, supported and delivered through.
NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro-rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Recruiting Board.
