The ICSS team reports compliance breaches to clients daily on a post-trade basis and provides functionality for monitoring breaches on a pre-trade basis.The role requires good knowledge/experience across the investment and operational cycle, with responsibilities including the interpretation of mandates and legislation to translate regulations into compliance rule results.Outline of main duties and responsibilitiesAssist with daily post-trade reporting and monthly compliance reporting (Reg28 and Reg30).Perform monthly preparation checks for instrument and issuer classifications.Clean static data to support daily monitoring and reporting integrity.Interpret and document legislative, regulatory, and mandate compliance requirements.Monitor regulatory changes and plan accordingly, including client communications.Develop, code, and implement compliance rules.Review compliance rules to improve integrity.Support the Apex client base with compliance-related queries.Build rapport with clients to understand their requirements and maintain relationships.Contribute to a culture of quality and adherence to compliance standards.Required Skills and ExperienceAn accounting or business degree (minimum B. Com or equivalent) with 4-5 years of fund administration/management experience in a compliance-related role.Certificate in Compliance Management.Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent Excel proficiency.Strong knowledge of the full investment process and regulatory investment limits in South Africa.Attention to detail and structured work approach.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Confident, self-motivated individual able to work under pressure.
