Purpose The ideal candidate will leverage data analytics to support strategic decision-making, streamline and automate key processes, and analyze cost structures to identify cost-saving opportunities. This role requires a deep understanding of insurance industry dynamics, strong financial acumen, and advanced data analytics capabilities.
Key Responsibilities Data Analytics Collect, process, and analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business performance. Use advanced statistical techniques and data mining methodologies to support business decisions.
Reporting & Visualization Create comprehensive reports and dashboards to present findings to senior management and stakeholders. Develop visualizations using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar to effectively communicate complex data insights.
Streamlining/Automation process Conduct detailed analysis to identify key process and potential areas for streamlining/automation.
Collaboration Work closely with finance, underwriting, claims, and other departments to gather data and understand business needs. Partner with IT and data engineering teams to ensure data infrastructure supports analytical needs.
Strategic Initiatives Support strategic initiatives by providing data-driven insights and recommendations. Participate in cross-functional projects to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall business performance.
Innovation Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data analytics, cost management, and the insurance industry. Experiment with new methodologies and tools to enhance analytical capabilities and business impact.
Minimum Experience 1 - 2 years experience in a similar environment
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas (NQF Level 07) in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
Competencies Proven experience in cost analysis, financial analysis, or data analytics within the insurance industry. Proficiency in using data analytics tools and programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, or similar. Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar. Familiarity with insurance financial metrics, underwriting processes, and claims management is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
