PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To tender and place orders for site work or manufactured goods in area of responsibility (commodity)MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) certificate with Mathematics and Accounting is essentialB Com Degree or equivalent 3 years commercial qualification is essentialComputer literacy (MS Office Package) is essentialShould have good financial control skillsMust have at least 5 years exposure in procurement within the mining industry which would be considered an advantageMust be able to work under pressure and meet deadlinesMust have good interpersonal skills to communicate with internal and external clientsA valid medical Certificate or be medically fit in order to obtain such a certificateDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The successful candidate is responsible to:Formal tendering and awarding purchase orders for specialized items and services required by operationsArranging and doing site meetings on and off mine premises for formal tendersEnsuring that all procurement policies and work procedures are followedEnsuring that orders placed are cost effective without sacrificing quality or supplier service levelsResolving any originator or supplier queries with regards to special ordersIdentifying repetitive special purchases that need to be moved to contracts and liaising with contract buyers to ensure that the items are added to the contractIncreasing accredited Local BEE spend and negotiate commitment dates from untransformed suppliersCommunicating with originator about products or supplier changes if suggested supplier is not used or if there are process delaysAnswering or directing all originator queries regarding special purchases e.g.
order status or potential delivery delays
