Listing reference: click_018821Listing status: OnlineApply by: 1 January 2025Position summaryIndustry: Wholesale & Retail TradeJob category: FMCG, Retail, Wholesale and Supply ChainLocation: Western CapeContract: PermanentRemuneration: Market RelatedEE position: YesAbout our companyClicks GroupIntroductionJOB PURPOSE: To determine the optimal assortment and space allocation proportions through translating assortment selection criteria from local environment behaviour trends, customs, sales performance data and shelf productivity/inventory turns to influence performance improvement.JOB OBJECTIVESTo take responsibility for maximizing performance and efficiency through specifically tailored space and assortment allocations for all categories allocated to designated project stores or group of stores.Optimize performance through the design of assortments tailored to performance, propensity and size across all allocated categories through sound analysis, engagement and research within the context of localized trends and behaviours.Identify and document for ongoing performance optimization and exploitation, local environment understanding & behaviour trends of the foreign territories.Influence & exploit assortment tailoring & space allocation of each category, tailored to the relevant trend & shopping behaviour within each targeted store.Ongoing performance evaluation and amendment of each store and category combination within the portfolio of targeted stores & categories for ongoing refinement and improvement.Be the primary influence and subject expert on foreign environment assortment development to exploit opportunities and maximize efficiencies in the designated project stores.Form collaborative relationships with colleagues and external sources to use as consultants for guidance in the pursuit of opportunity, optimization and implementation.Establish a relationship with operational staff in the foreign territories to solve problems and pursue opportunities as they pertain to assortment, space and fixture requirements.Provide guidance to the planning team as well as item level guidance to product development and store clustering, ensuring alignment to assortment principles.Provide guidance to the assortment optimization team on new SKU relevance.Provide subject matter expertise, project management and analytical support to assortment decisions made by the merchandising organization during category reviews.Provide guidance to floor planning on relevant space requirements per category per store, as well as developing an ideal blueprint for each targeted environment.Develop appropriate analysis and performance tracking that can be presented to senior management to motivate or explain category performance.Manage a reference register for special rules, regulations, or restrictions on assortment in these stores.EDUCATION· Bachelor's degree or equivalent in experienceJOB EXPERIENCE· At least 3 years of experience in retail or e-commerce, focusing on merchandising assortment and planning/analysis.JOB RELATED KNOWLEDGEUsing BI tools and data mining techniquesExperience working on multiple categories, using facts, to determine best assortment that exceeds customer expectations.Aptitude to assess and analyse internal & external data points & insights.Analytically minded with strong logic and organizational skills.Aptitude to access, organize and prioritize data to improve the decision making process.Preferred: proficiency in the CatMan suite of applications used to analyse and build assortments.JOB RELATED SKILLSAdvanced analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong trend analysis experienceDetail oriented with knowledge of retail modelling.Ability to partner with cross-functional teams at all levels across a complex organizationAbility to get results despite workload, competing demands and a fast-paced environmentAbility to effectively prioritize multiple demands, adjust to change quickly and work constructively under pressureAbility to structure nebulous projects and work constructively under tight deadlinesAbility to influence peers and business partners without authorityAbility to identify opportunities for performance improvement and efficiencies.COMPETENCIESDeciding and Initiating ActionPersuading and InfluencingDelivering Results & Meeting Customer ExpectationsPresenting and Communicating InformationApplying Expertise and TechnologyAnalysingPlanning and OrganisingLearning and Researching
