EWSETA is looking for a highly skilled and driven Energy Sector Specialist to play a vital role in fostering strategic partnerships, advancing thought leadership, and driving impactful initiatives in the energy industry.
About the RoleAs the Energy Sector Specialist, you will work closely with the Energy Sector Manager to strengthen EWSETA's strategic relationships with stakeholders, leveraging your expertise to make a meaningful impact in skills development and sector growth. This dynamic role requires a blend of technical knowledge, stakeholder engagement, and innovative thinking to support EWSETA's mission of empowering South Africa's energy sector workforce.
Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you'll focus on:
Coordinating Energy Sector Events and InitiativesPlan and manage impactful events and projects in the energy sector.Driving Strategic CommunicationsAdvocate for EWSETA's contributions through articles, blogs, and presentations at industry forums.Fostering Thought LeadershipShare insights and lead conversations to position EWSETA as a key knowledge hub.Building Business PartnershipsCreate value-driven relationships with stakeholders to meet sector needs.Leveraging DataCollect, interpret, and apply sector data to support strategic decision-making.Coordinate with internal teams to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions.Qualifications and ExperienceHonour's degree in Energy Science or a related field (NQF Level 08).Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in the energy or related sectors.Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools.Advantageous: Master's degree in Energy Science (NQF Level 09).Membership with professional bodies such as IEPA, SAEE, or SANEA.Key Competencies and SkillsStrong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.Strategic thinking and a results-oriented mindset.Knowledge of South African energy policies, skills development mandates, and the regulatory ecosystem.Ability to analyze data and produce technical publications.A collaborative and innovative approach to problem-solving.Why Join EWSETA?Working at EWSETA offers the opportunity to contribute to South Africa's energy transformation.
