South Africa: Product Manager – Cape Town

The Product Manager will be responsible for managing all elements of the product development lifecycle. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelors degree in business, Marketing or Strategy 5 years experience as a Product Manager, Product Owner, or similar role Proven work experience delivering product features using Agile/SCRUM methodology Experience in Financial Services sector is required Experience working in the payments industry and experience working with PSPs, card schemes, and banks is required Experience in marketing will be advantageous Experience working with data will be advantageousResponsibilities:Understand the business s goals, metrics of success and strategy Understand the business s value proposition , current products and capabilities Understand the customer segments (Current and target) including their needs; desires; challenges; behaviours; buying process; experiences; priorities; values; preferences; beliefs; perceptions; and current product usage Develop the product strategy which includes the vision for the product; the metrics of success; the roadmap showing the milestones; and go-to-market strategy Create and prioritise the feature backlog based on new features; product improvements; bugs; design debt; and tech debt. Conduct research to understand the market and the competitors to inform a SWOT analysis Source and analyse data and trends regarding customers product use and behaviours as well as customer sentiment and feedback on current features Define a business case for partnership opportunities and new features to ensure a strong ROI (return on investment) Articulate and manage feature scope and articulate the Minimal Viable Product Collect feature requirements from various stakeholders, including customers, sales teams, internal departments, partners, and 3rd parties Stakeholder management to obtain buy-in and provide progress updates of work underway; issues; risks; assumptions; dependencies; and expected delivery dates Gather and document the various user journeys ; scenarios and error states that could occur Work closely with UX designers to create UI designs that meet the users needs and provide an excellent user experience Oversee product development to ensure that the product is developed according to the defined requirements and timeline Test the feature before go-live to ensure the product meets the requirements and quality standards Enable the Support team to support the new feature through the creation of training material; FAQ guides; and defining the metrics to track performance against Enable the Sales team to support the new feature through the provision of training material and product guides Work with the marketing team to develop go-to-market plans Monitor the feature in production to assess feature uptake; user satisfaction; and to identify any issues or areas for improvement Personal attributes and skills Passion for product Empathy for customers Leader Collaborator and team player Ability to learn quickly Problem solver Creative Ability to analyse data and derive insights Attention to detailProduct Manager – Cape Town position available in ZA, South Africa.
