Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and qualified Sous Chef to join a popular Restaurant based in George.

Responsibilities:

Directing the food preparation process and delegating tasks to the Junior kitchen team members.
Cooking and preparing high-quality dishes in accordance with the company's standard recipes.
Assisting the Head Chef to create menu items, recipes, and develop dishes in accordance with the Company owner's approval.
Supervising all kitchen stations and daily setups in accordance with the Company's kitchen standards.
Supervising, motivating, and working closely with all other Chefs of all levels.
Ensuring health and safety in accordance with the company's set requirements and training courses provided.
Being responsible for food hygiene practices and assisting the Head Chef with monthly audits.
Ensuring food quality and excellent standards are maintained for all dishes created as per the set recipe specifications approved by the Company owners.
Assisting with determining food inventory (stock) needs, stocking, and ordering with the approval of the Head Chef.

Job Specification:

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
Competent level of English spoken and written.
Reports directly to the Head Chef.

Skills and Qualities: In addition to the specific responsibilities, all good Sous Chefs should possess:

Good knowledge of all sections.
Ability to produce good quality food.
Good oral communication.
Team management skills.
High level of attention to detail.
Good level of numeracy.
Enthusiasm to develop your own skills and knowledge plus those around you.
Adaptability to change and a willingness to embrace new ideas and processes within the company.
Ability to work unsupervised and deliver quality work, ensuring that all our guests receive the very best standards at all times.
Positive and approachable manner.
Team player qualities.
