Sous Chef
Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our esteemed culinary team. You will work closely with our Head Chef to create and deliver a menu that embodies luxury and showcases the finest local produce. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic and dedicated team committed to providing an unforgettable dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and design of all food and drink menus.
Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely manner that meets our quality standards.
Oversee and support the preparation of food.
Produce high-quality plates both in design and taste.
Ensure that kitchen staff adhere to health and safety regulations.
Provide guidance and training to kitchen staff.
Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between co-workers.
Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene and health & safety.
Monitor and manage inventory and supplies.
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Quality of Food:
Consistently produce high-quality dishes that meet our luxury standards.
Efficiency in Service:
Ensure timely preparation and delivery of meals.
Menu Development:
Assist in creating innovative and appealing menu items that align with our focus on provenance.
Customer Satisfaction:
Maintain high levels of guest satisfaction with food quality and presentation.
Cost Control:
Manage food and labour costs effectively without compromising on quality.
Training & Development:
Provide ongoing training and support to kitchen staff.
Health & Safety Compliance:
Adhere to and enforce all health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
Inventory Management:
Monitor and maintain adequate inventory levels.
Team Collaboration:
Foster a positive and productive work environment through effective communication and teamwork.
Adaptability:
Show flexibility and adaptability in meeting the varying needs and demands of our guests.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a luxury environment is essential
Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Up-to-date knowledge of culinary trends and optimised kitchen processes.
Strong attention to detail and creativity.
Ability to work well in a team and under pressure.
Culinary degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
